This programme adopts a holistic approach towards learning English and allows students to master English indirectly through the enjoyable activity of reading. We will turn hesitant and reluctant readers into enthusiastic life-long readers.


4. Speech and Presentation

This programme aims to improve the spoken and articulation of everyday spoken English to assist communication and effective expression of ideas. It is a practical programme, which aids in dialogue, speech and public speaking.

5. Taking Off With Literature

This programme aims to help students become better readers and writers of the English language, by showing them how creative forms of writing can be an enjoyable resource to engage in and inspire them to use the English language more creatively.


Age Group : 13 to 18 years old

1. Effective Comprehension and Summary Skills

This is a skills-related, Pro-Active Comprehension Programme which empowers the learner, helping him to overcome the fear and reluctance associated with tackling comprehension questions. Systematic steps enable students to breakdown tough passages into digestible pieces and finally put them into effective summary.

The Grammar Component- we also teach proper usage of grammar- the structure, grammatical components and different text-types.

2. Effective Writing Skills

This programme uses a holistic approach to effective writing. In this course, the 4 components of the English Language will be integrated (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening). This course aims to help students become better writers of the English language, by teaching them the different text-types used in writing.

From drafting to the editing process, students will learn to develop characters, create settings and plots. We will teach them how to begin their stories, link their ideas and end the story well. Every student will be engaged in peer editing and teacher-student conferencing. The students, at the end of the course, should have mastery over writing in the different text-types and be prepared to take the examinations confidently.

3. Vocabulary Enrichment

This is a skills-based, Pro-Active Vocabulary Enrichment Programme, which empowers the learner, helping him to overcome the fear and reluctance associated with tackling difficult words. The students will be taught to make intelligent guesses at the meanings through contextualization. Dictionary skills will also be taught. In this course, we do not teach words in isolation but offer interesting and relevant passages, such as adolescent woes, to the reader. In this manner, the reader’s interest can be sustained through the course.

The Grammar Component- We also teach proper usage of grammar- the structure, grammatical components and different text-types.

The programme aims to help students become better writers of the English language, by teaching them the different text-types used in writing. The students, at the end of the course, should have mastery over writing in the different text-types and be prepared to take the examinations confidently.

The programme comes in modular approach, and we have the four levels available, ranging from Secondary 1 to 4.


4. Language Skills

Theme: Creation of a class magazine

Our objectives: Students learn to brainstorm, verbalize their opinions as convincingly as possible, learn interview skills, do role-play, plan and do expository, persuasive, argumentative and imaginative style of writing. The final outcome will be a presentation of a class magazine or wall poster.

5. Literature and Life

Our objective: Students learn to appreciate and understand unseen texts whether poem, play or prose. They will be taught to see patterns, links, process thoughts and association and finally apply these concepts into life situation and problem solving.

6. Literature and Language

Our objective: Students are to use the creative dimensions of language to think critically and creatively beyond the box of normal expectations and perceptions. This programme incorporates the Pro-Active Learning System and students are expected to participate instead of being a passive learner. By the end of the course, students will have to write and compose their own literature work.

7. “I believe I can fly”: Taking off with Creative Writing

This programme aims to help students become better readers and writers of the English language, by showing them how creative forms of writing can be a very enjoyable resource to engage and inspire them to use language more effectively.

Wherever possible, the sessions will emphasize interactive learning, group work, and the use of AV aids, including music, readings and songs. Students will be expected to keep a file of literary materials they like, which they will select from to share at the last session of the course. Literary materials for the sessions will be both poetry and prose-writings, with a greater emphasis on poems. Materials will be matched with the different learning levels of the target audience.

8. Public Speaking and Speech Presentation Skills

Our objective: Students will gain confidence in public speaking and the methods associated with making an interesting, well-focused and narrated speech. They will learn voice projection and self-control, postures and be involved in drama workshops.

9. Drama Programme

Exercising your creative juice through drama- this programme allows students to have a better understanding of drama, theatre and performing. Students will be acquainted with theatre etiquette, performance and presentation skills. It improves pupils’ social skills; build up their confidence in speech and language while developing their creativity and lateral thinking.

It enables students to communicate their thoughts, feelings and emotion. Improvisation and dramatization will go ‘hand in hand’ to let students discover things for and about themselves.
