PROGRAMME SYNOPSIS

This practical workshop introduces and develops the necessary knowledge and skills to participants to become aspiring, creative and credible narrative writers.  Participants will be exposed to opportunities to hone and stretch their writing abilities and even discover their unique style of writing. They will be able to unlock their expressiveness of participants in the written form and experience the joys and rewards of writing. The workshop will be exciting and meaningful and our objective is to instill in participants an interest and passion for creative writing.

EMC’s Objectives

• To teach the phases of the writing process and equip pupils with strategies and tools for each phase of the writing process
• To teach pupils literary elements and forms employed in the different genres and writing styles
• To develop pupil’s creative and critical thinking skills and the ability for self –reflection and self-editing in the writing process
• To provide opportunities for pupils to hone their writing skills through guided practice
• To develop pupils’ understanding of the structure and conventions of language and appreciation of the power of language to impact and affect others
• To develop students’ social and interpersonal skills through co-operative learning activities, teach-student conferencing and peer-conferencing
